Christopher Cantwell: Men’s Rights Activist turned neo-Nazi. (Pic: Modified screenshot from Vice News documentary)

By David Futrelle

I was up all night writing this one, which I think pulls together some of the points I’ve been making a bit less explicitly on the blog of late.

Here’s what we journalists like to call the nut graf:

There are good reasons why men’s-rights activism has served for so many as a gateway drug to the alt-right: Both movements appeal to men with fantasies of violent, sometimes apocalyptic redemption — and, like [Christopher] Cantwell, a tendency to express these fantasies in bombastic prose. And both movements are based on a bizarro-world ideology in which those with the most power in contemporary society are the true victims of oppression.

In other words, if you can convince yourself that men are the primary victims of sexism, it’s not hard to convince yourself that whites are the primary victims of racism.

In addition to Mr. Cantwell, a number of other We Hunted the Mammoth favorites make appearances in the piece.

Let me know what you think!

This is the “beauty” Trump wants to save

By David Futrelle

So it’s been a busy week, and I haven’t done one of these for a few days. Let’s play catch-up. I’m going a bit heavy on the joke tweets and cute animals today because otherwise I think I’d have to curl up in a ball on the floor.

Scott Adams: Dunning-Kruger in action

By David Futrelle

Like Donald Trump, and like a lot of people who think they’re much smarter than they are, cartoonist-turned-Trump-rationalizer Scott Adams hates to admit he’s wrong. Trouble is, he’s wrong a lot; he can barely open his mouth on Periscope or type out a Tweet without saying something ridiculous if not patently false.

But one tweet of his from six months ago has proven to be so egregiously wrong that he’s written an entire blog post trying, and failing to defend it.

Six months after this tweet, Trump’s administration is imploding, our illegitimate president has seen his approval rating drop into the mid-thirties, and some 30,000 people just came out to an anti-fascist march in Boston that was in part a massive public repudiation of Trump’s inability to clearly and convincingly denounce literal Nazis — to name only a few of Trump’s current woes. It’s less awkward than ever to be anti-Trump.

In his blog post, would-be “master persuader” Adams offers up an exceedingly unpersuasive set of arguments — if they can even be called that — to try to convince Trump-haters that they should feel awkward for hating Trump.

As you might expect, anti-Trumper are saying [my] tweet didn’t age well. They are saying this on the same week that their side protested a free speech rally by throwing urine on cops.

Well, no. 30,000 people marched against a rally organized by white supremacists, neo-Nazis, and semi-quasi-Nazis that billed itself as a “free speech” march, much in the same way that 9/11 conspiracy theorists define themselves as “Truthers.” The alleged urine-throwers made up a fraction of a percent of the marchers.

Anticipating this obvious rebuttal to his nonsense, Adams remarks snarkily that

I learned this past week that if you are marching with urine-hurlers, and making common cause with urine-hurlers, you’re just as bad as urine-hurlers. And if that logic doesn’t hold up, it would feel super-awkward for me to be on the team that says it does. But that’s just me.

It’s just you. You’re trying to equate a massive peaceful march in Boston that was attended by a miniscule number of alleged “urine-hurlers” with two marches in Charlotteville, organized by and filled to the brim with neo-Nazis and Nazi-equivalents, many of them armored and armed with clubs and pepper spray and in some cases with semi-automatic rifles, a march in which a woman was killed — a woman whose death was declared “more than justified” by one of the march’s speakers and hailed as “payback” by the march’s main organizer.

Adams continues on, grasping at straws.

Meanwhile, Senator Schiff, a prominent anti-Trumper, spoke out today against violence. But he failed to name Antifa or White Supremacists by name, despite being prompted to do so by Jake Tapper in this interview, thus drawing a moral equivalence between Antifa and White Supremacists. And if he later mentions any hate groups by name, we still have to wonder why it took so long. We learned last week from anti-Trumpers that this sort of moral equivalence, and the peculiar pause before a full disavowal, are deeply meaningful. If this logic doesn’t make sense to you, it might feel super-awkward to be on the team that insists it does.

This would be a “gotcha,” I suppose, if Schiff — a Congressman, not a Senator –were actually unwilling to denounce white supremacists. Unfortunately, at least for Adams, Schiff has called them out by name on various occasions, as he did in these Tweets shortly after the debacle in Charlottesville (and before Adams wrote his post).

Adams continues flailing.

And what about the racist dog whistle that anti-Trumpers tell us only they and racists can hear? Is it not super-awkward that your best criticism involves hearing a secret message that only racists can detect?

Well, no. You don’t have to be a white supremacist to notice white supremacist dog whistles; you just have to know something about white supremacists.

Or what if your view is that President Trump accomplished nothing in his first six months? Would this extensive list of his accomplishments make you feel super-awkward?

Now this is awkward — for Adams. The list he’s talking about was posted to Reddit’s The Donald several months ago, and, well, it’s pretty pathetic. It claims, among other things, that “Trump has successfully enacted a Travel Ban” (well, that’s one way of putting it I guess), that he’s put “thousands of coal miners back to work” (bullshit), and that “Trump has already saved taxpayers $86 Billion by cutting regulations” (even the right-wing think-tank “insight” piece cited as evidence only claims that “recent regulatory actions … could produce [emphasis mine] more than $86 billion in savings for taxpayers,” much in the same way, I might add, that my butt could produce flying monkeys). Most of the other “accomplishments” listed are small beans.

Trump’s promise to replace Obamacare with something better, meanwhile, has been a humiliating failure, and last night he announced a “plan” on Afghanistan that was a total repudiation to his oft-repeated promise to get us out of that seemingly endless war.

Did you think that no progress in building the “wall” would be embarrassing for Trump supporters? Or did you see the New York Times confirm that progress is being made?

In fact, the NYT article supposedly supporting this claim states only that

[t]he United States Army Corps of Engineers has begun preliminary preparations for the construction of segments of a wall in several places along the border with Mexico. …

Engineers are drilling and taking soil samples to determine what type of barriers would be most effective in the different types of geography along the border … .

I might as well claim I am making progress on climbing Mount Everest because I periodically walk up flights of stairs.

Perhaps you rejoiced this week about President Trump’s tweet on General Pershing’s handling of Islamic terrorists because he was so factually wrong about the pig blood thing. But maybe you didn’t know how accurate he was according to Pershing’s own words. That feels super-awkward to me, but maybe it sounds different to people who hear the secret racist beacon at the same time.

Trump’s story — claiming that Pershing stopped terrorism for decades by massacring dozens of suspected Muslim terrorists, without trial, using bullets dipped in pig’s blood — has been declared utterly false by historians. (It also would have been a war crime.) The passage in Pershing’s memoirs that Adams links to hardly confirms this story; it makes reference not to massacring Muslims with blood-coated bullets but to burying Muslim terrorists alongside pigs. That’s also racist as fuck — nothing “secret” about Pershing’s or Trump’s racism — but it’s not the same story.

And the inaccuracy of Trump’s tweet was only part of the problem. The much bigger issue? That our president would essentially endorse war crimes as a supposed solution to terrorism.

I will take anti-Trumpers at their word that they don’t feel awkward about any of this.

Well, good, because we very definitely don’t.

I got that prediction totally wrong. …

I will take this opportunity to publicly eat some crow and agree that six months into this presidency, anti-Trumpers do NOT feel super-awkward. But according to Julian Assange, perhaps they should:

Adams posts a screenshot of this tweet from Assange:

The only awkward thing here? That anyone would actually believe — or profess to believe — that the neo-Nazi “free speech” rally had anything to do with free speech. The 30,000 counterprotesters who marched in Boston weren’t protesting against free speech; they were engaging in it. Much like those who have been dragging Adams on Twitter over his ridiculous tweet. Nothing awkward about that.

Return of Kings decries “digital rights Kristallnacht” after The Daily Stormer is tossed off the internet

The Daily Stormer’s Andrew Anglin: Misunderstood satirist?

By David Futrelle

It’s not altogether surprising to see a writer at the far-right internet shitsheet Return of Kings crying “censorship” in the case of The Daily Stormer, the notorious neo-Nazi hate site that has been banished to the so-called Dark Web.

What is a little surprising is the language Return of Kings contributor “Jimbo Jones” used in his defense of the neo-Nazi site. “Years from now, ” Jimbo wrote in a post yesterday, “the ‘Unite the Right’ event in Charlottesville, Virginia may be remembered—oh so ironically—as a digital rights Kristallnacht” ushering in a new era of internet censorship.

Wait, what?

Kristallnacht (“The Night of Broken Glass”) refers, of course, to the Nazi-orchestrated orgy of anti-Jewish violence in November 1938 that destroyed thousands of Jewish homes, businesses and synagogues and led to the deaths of hundreds of German Jews. To use the terms to describe the booting of a neo-Nazi site from the public internet is, well, pretty fucking egregious.

Jimbo also repurposes “First they came,” that famous poem from German Lutheran pastor Martin Niemöller lamenting the cowardice of German intellectuals in the face of Hitler, in his defense of the neo-Nazi site. Classy, dude.

Similarly egregious is Jimbo’s attempt to disguise the truly vile nature of The Daily Stormer, which he described as

a satirical website that the mainstream media labels as “neo-Nazi,” “anti-semitic” and “white supremacist,” among other arbitrary, self-serving descriptors .. .

Not even close. The writers and commenters at The Daily Stormer may make a lot of obnoxious jokes, but there is nothing satirical about the site; it’s run by a self-described neo-Nazi who is sincere in his hatred of Jews and people of color as Hitler himself was. Judging from their comments, most of his readers are equally sincere in their hatreds. Nothing ironic about these Nazis.

Indeed, the Daily Stormer sent a contingent to the “Unite the Right” march in Charlottesville, with one of the site’s regular contributors telling Vice News that the rally

means we are showing to this parasitic class of anti-white vermin that this is our country, it was built by our forefathers, and it will remain our country … At some point, we will have enough power that we will clean them from our streets forever! That which is degenerate in white countries will be removed!

Hilarious, right?

Ironically, most hardcore alt-right neo-Nazis — like the kind who read and write The Daily Stormer — consider Return of Kings publisher Roosh Valizadeh, who is of Persian and Armenian descent, one of those “parasites,” and would boot him from their utopian white ethnostate even more quickly than The Daily Stormer was booted off the public internet after Charlottesville. That is, if they didn’t simply kill him outright.

At this point my Irony Meter has been broken so many times I think it’s probably beyond repair.

4channers launch a false flag campaign, apparently forgetting that we can see what they post

UPDATE: See update at the end of this post. It’s kind of funny.

By David Futrelle

On Monday, I published a post devoted to the proposition that Alt-rightists and their ideological kin lie about everything — usually badly. As if to prove my point, right-wing trolls from 4chan and Gab have launched a false flag “meme campaign” designed to smear AntiFa activists as supporters of domestic violence against women and children.

The campaign seems to have originated at 4chan — see the graphic at the top of this post — where it was quickly taken up by some of the resident anons. (Click for full-sized graphic; I’ve censored the graphic depictions of bruises.)

The idea quickly found its way to Gab — the famously “censorship-free” Twitter alternative, positively overflowing with Nazis and shitlords — where an alt-right Gabber called @Sperg quickly assembled a vast library of grotesque memes.

ᴄʀʏᴘᴛᴡᴀʀᴢPRO · @cryptwarz 🏛 Politics · 5 hours · edited Steps to Ostracize Antifa and all Communists: 1.) Go to @Sperg on Gab 2.) Download Images or Copy Image Links 3.) Go To Twitter and Hashtag #PunchANazi 4.) Show your "Righteous Indignation" at the depravity of Antifa and demand the media and the Left Denouce this vile hatred. 5.) Sit Back

Here are a few of the tamer ones, lightly censored to obscure graphic depictions of bruises and other injuries — though they’re still pretty disturbing.

I’ve taken the liberty of writing FAKE on each in big red letters.

Many of the memes were so over-the-top that they could only fool the most gullible — like those advocating the beating of children and elderly women.

It wasn’t long before these memes began popping up on Twitter — some of them posted by alt-rightists and Trump fans, others posted by clearly fake AntiFa accounts. (Or at least clearly fake to you and me, not necessarily to your typical Trump fan.)

It seems incredible to think that anyone could be fooled by such obviously fake memes — particularly since the evidence that this is a false flag is being spread around the hashtag by leftists trying to correct the record. But smear campaigns like this work even if only a small number of those seeing the fake memes think they’re true; they further poison an already poisoned well.

Dirty tricks have always been a part of politics. But for many in and around the alt-right today, politics has become almost nothing but dirty tricks. We need to remember that these are people who lie as casually and compulsively as their hero Donald Trump — and call their hoaxes out every time we spot them.

UPDATE: Naturally, 4chan anons are mad that they’ve been found out, as Robyn Pennacchia details in a lovely post on Wonkette.

I also used the same monster comic filter I used in that last pic on a 19th century painting and it turned out even creepier than Miller. The face behind the girl wasn’t in the original painting.

Much like Katrina, Harvey is turning into a slow-motion catastrophe as the deluge continues and flood waters rise. The National Weather Service is predicting more than 50 inches of rain in some areas, “beyond anything experienced before.”

Donald Trump, meanwhile, takes to Twitter to promote the book of a sheriff nearly as terrible as Joe Arpaio, talk about his stupid wall, brag about his win in Missouri, and issue meaningless bromides on how well everything is going in Texas, where things are decidedly not going well.

If you’re a WHTM reader in an area hit by Harvey, let us know how you are doing. We can signal boost if you need help!

The driver being taken into custody yesterday

By David Futrelle

Yesterday, at an alt-right “Patriot Prayer” rally in Vancouver, Washington, the driver of a Confederate-flag-bedecked truck sped backwards into a group of AntiFa counterprotesters; luckily those in his path were able to jump out of the way.

Here’s how Willamette Week described the incident:

A black Chevy Silverado with Oregon plates and two large American flags and several small flags hanging from its windows (along with a Confederate flag decal displayed on the back window of the cab) drove up to the marchers. It was driving slowly down a street flanked by people dressed in black bloc clothing.

As the crowd parted to clear the way for the truck to move forward, protesters filled the street behind it and started throwing rocks and water bottles at the truck.

The driver suddenly put his vehicle in reverse and accelerated toward the protesters. As he sped up, people jumped out of the street.

The driver continued to drive in reverse for nearly a block, stopping at the next intersection and revving his engine.

The incident was captured on video by journalist Mike Bivins; unfortunately the camera angle makes it hard to see what was going on behind the truck as it backed up.

Shortly afterwards the truck was pulled over by police, the driver was briefly detained, then released without charges.

The driver was apparently quite pleased to remain a free man, posting a brief video of himself literally wrapped in the American flag and shouting out “no arrest for this proud [unintelligible] patriot!” His brother went on to praise his actions on Facebook, as Mother Jones journalist Shane Bauer noted in a tweet.

Despite the obvious similarity to the car attack in Charlottesville that left antifascist activist Heather Heyer dead, this incident has gotten almost no coverage in the media. Given that Wilson faced essentially no repercussions for what he did, I suspect it won’t be long before we see this terroristic tactic used again by someone else on the far right.

Today should have been a day to reflect on the horror that was 9/11, and the horror that it unleashed upon the world. It should have been a day to remember the heroism of firefighters and the bravery of those who risked their health and their lives to search for survivors.

For our illegitimate president, it was a day to celebrate … himself.

What a fucking disgrace.

But typical for Trump. Here he was on the day the towers fell:

Here he was in 2013:

Milo Yiannopoulos: Actually worse than you already thought

By David Futrelle

So you all need to drop whatever you’re doing to read Buzzfeed’s amazing exposé of Breitbart’s use of conscienceless troll journalist Milo Yiannopoulos to push white supremacism into the American political mainstream (again).

Basing his reporting in part on a vast trove of leaked Milo emails, Buzzfeed reporter Joseph Bernstein is able to offer a somewhat gruesome behind-the scenes look at the symbiotic relationship between Milo and Breitbart’s Steve Bannon during the crucial months leading up to Trump’s electoral college victory.

If you thought the end product of the Milo/Breitbart collaboration was disgusting, well, it turns out that the sausage factory that produced it was even more disgusting. And lousy with Nazis to boot.

Again, you need to read the whole piece. But in the meantime, let me whet your appetite a little with what I’d like to call the 5 Nazi-est moments from Buzzfeed’s exposé of the Milo/Breitbart alt-right sausage factory.

Let’s start with:

Milo serenading a gaggle of sieg-heiling Nazis at a Dallas karaoke bar.

Roll the video;

According to Buzfeed, Milo later told them that his “his ‘severe myopia’ made it impossible for him to see the Hitler salutes a few feet away.”

Milo using Nazi references for his not-very-secure passwords.

As Buzzfeed explains:

In an April 6 email, Allum Bokhari mentioned having had access to an account of Yiannopoulos’s with “a password that began with the word Kristall.” Kristallnacht, an infamous 1938 riot against German Jews carried out by the SA — the paramilitary organization that helped Hitler rise to power — is sometimes considered the beginning of the Holocaust. In a June 2016 email to an assistant, Yiannopoulos shared the password to his email, which began “LongKnives1290.” The Night of the Long Knives was the Nazi purge of the leadership of the SA. The purge famously included Ernst Röhm, the SA’s gay leader. 1290 is the year King Edward I expelled the Jews from England.

Milo’s editors repeatedly having to remove horrible anti-Semitic jokes from his articles because they didn’t want to be quite that obvious about what they were pushing

Frequently, Alex Marlow’s job editing him came down to rejecting anti-Semitic and racist ideas and jokes. …

Editing a September 2016 Yiannopoulos speech, Marlow approved a joke about “shekels” but added that “you can’t even flirt with OKing gas chamber tweets,” asking for such a line to be removed.

Milo sending “his” now-notorious guide to the alt-right to several prominent alt-rightists for approval before publishing it

Needless to say, ethical journalists don’t generally send copies of their articles to the subjects of their articles before publishing them.

Interesting sidenote: Though Milo’s underling Allum Bokhari basically wrote the whole article, Buzzfeed reports, Milo wanted his name alone on it, telling his editor in an email that “I want the glory here.” Bokhari, wanting some credit for the article he’d written, appealed to Milo’s Machiavellian instincts by suggesting that “it actually lowers the risk if someone with a brown-sounding name shares the BL.” (Bokhari is half-Pakistani.) Ultimately, the article was credited to both of them, with Milo;s name listed first.

Milo has collaborators, just like the Nazis did!

Despite his obvious odiousness and his many ties to white supremacists and literal Nazis, Milo managed to win himself a number of liberal allies on the down low. As Buzzfeed notes:

Yiannopoulos had hidden helpers in the liberal media against which he and Bannon fought so uncompromisingly. A long-running email group devoted to mocking stories about the social justice internet included, predictably, Yiannopoulos’s friend Ann Coulter, but also Mitchell Sunderland, a senior staff writer at Broadly, Vice’s women’s channel. …

“Please mock this fat feminist,” Sunderland wrote to Yiannopoulos in May 2016, along with a link to an article by the New York Times columnist Lindy West, who frequently writes about fat acceptance. …

Dan Lyons, the veteran tech reporter … emailed Yiannopoulos (“you little troublemaker”) periodically to wonder about the birth sex of Zoë Quinn, another GamerGate target, and Amber Discko, the founder of the feminist website Femsplain, and to suggest a story about the public treatment of the venture capitalist Joe Lonsdale, who had been accused of sexual assault in a lawsuit that the plaintiff eventually dropped.

Lovely.

And these little details are merely the tip of the Nazi iceberg. You’ve got to read the whole thing.

UNRELATED HEALTH NOTE: Sorry I haven’t been able to resume regular posts just yet. I appreciate your patience and support and will get back to regular posting as soon as I can, but I don’t know if that will be a matter of days or longer. Thanks again, everyone!

Return of Kings: Keep immigrants out! Except for sexy lady immigrants, send more of those

Return of Kings dream girls

By David Futrelle

The fellas at garbage site Return of Kings have made their feelings about immigrants pretty clear. If you do a search for “immigrants” on the site, you get a lot of headlines like these:

TRAITORS WITHIN THE GATES? IMMIGRANTS HAVE PRACTICALLY NO LOYALTY TO THEIR ADOPTED COUNTRIES

THERE IS LITTLE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IMMIGRANTS AND INVADERS

HOW ELITES ARE GETTING RICH FROM MOVING THIRD-WORLD IMMIGRANTS INTO AMERICAN SUBURBS

You get the picture.

But it turns out that there’s one kind of immigrant that Return of Kings actually likes and wants more of: sexy lady immigrants.

A recent post on the site by regular contributor William Adams puts for the proposition that “FOREIGN WOMEN SHOULD COME BEFORE MEN IN ANY IMMIGRATION PLAN.” Adams argues that what he describes as a “massive influx” of “Middle Eastern and African male economic migrants” engineered in part by “globalists like George Soros” is ruining the dating prospects of native-born men in Western Europe and North America.

“Some have … speculated,” he writes,

that feminists in leadership positions either want to make things worse for native men, or that they want to increase the female value in the sexual market by making the society more competitive for men while improving their own access to men. More men imply a better situation for adult females who are free to pick among both native and non-native men and for both short- and long-term relationships.

And it goes without saying that “a better situation for adult females” is a very bad thing indeed.

In fact, according to a recent analysis by Eurostat, there were only “slightly more men than women (56 % compared with 44 %)” immigrants to European Union states from countries outside the EU in 2016.

But damn the facts, because in the minds of the horny racists at Return of Kings, the swarthy hordes are TERKING OUR WIMMINZ.

And so, as Adams sees it, we in the west need to open our borders to more women from places like Russia, Brazil, the Philippines and even “war-ridden countries like Yemen.”

This brilliant plan, Adams argues, could magically end racial division in the west and cut down on ISIS recruitment efforts.

When both white and non-white citizens notice that they have a higher chance of finding a long-term partner, they will focus more on living a stable life instead of joining pathetic extremist groups that do no one no good.

More importantly to Return of Kings readers, it will mean MORE WIMMINZ for them — a development that could also force the women that are here already to start treating dudes better.

[T]he sexual market will be much more balanced, and even native women may have to adjust and better themselves as a result of the tougher competition from their global sisters.

And it might even save Western dudes money on airfare as they won’t have to fly halfway across the world to find themselves hot foreign wives any more!

[W]hy should a man go and live in South America, Eastern Europe or Southeast Asia under worse material conditions when he can live in the West with a more traditional female partner?

This seems like a lot of work to go through to improve the dating prospects of some of the worst dudes in the West. Wouldn’t it be simpler just to deport all Return of Kings fans to one of these places?

Accused murderer Lane “Seattle4Truth” Davis

By David Futrelle

In August, a Washington state man named Lane Davis was charged with first-degree murder after he allegedly stabbed his father to death in an argument over internet conspiracy theories about alleged leftist pedophile rings.

It turns out that Davis wasn’t just some gullible rando who was taken in by pernicious conspiratorial nonsense on the internet; he was in fact a major distributor of such nonsense. And his voice was amplified for years by the Ralph Retort. one of the most scurrilous online rags birthed by the Gamergate hate movement.

Seattle4Truth, as he was known online, was a prolific right-wing YouTuber who pushed a wide assortment of conspiracy theories, ranting about such favorite alt-right targets as George Soros, “anarchist antifa terroristrs” and Black Lives Matter “nutters” in videos sometimes tinged with explicit racism. An enthusiastic Gamergater, he launched attacks on that sordid movement’s designated villains and assembled a three-hour “documentary” pushing a number of convoluted conspiracy theories about gaming.

He was also a longtime contributor — and one-time political editor — of the internet hate site (and former Gamergate propaganda hub) The Ralph Retort.

Naturally, he was also a Trump superfan, regularly posting to Reddit’s The_Donald and at one time going so far as to record his own pro-Trump rap track.

The folks at The Ralph Retort are trying their best to disassociate himself from their former political editor. In a typically combative post, site founder Ethan Ralph — himself currently in jail for assaulting a police officer — offered cursory respects to Davis’ family before launching an attack on the “haters” now who insist on drawing connections between him and, well, a guy he was  connected to for years. Hell, Ethan Ralph tapped Davis to temporarily run his site. along with his wife Nora Ralph, when he reported to prison in June, less than a month before Davis’ own arrest.

A former unpaid contributor to my site, Lane Davis, stands accused of killing his father. My condolences go out to his family. The rush to score points against me, while completely expected, is also completely ridiculous. I’m only responsible for my own actions. …

I expect the memes and attacks to continue. It’s the internet, after all. By all means, enjoy it. I would be a hypocrite to say otherwise. But I hope some of you will spare a thought and/or a prayer for the Davis family. …

Farewell, for now, my friends. As always, the haters can eat shit. Nothing on this Earth will deter me from coming back stronger than before.

In a somewhat more subdued, but equally revealing, official statement posted on his site, Nora Ralph declares:

Lane Davis was a 33-year-old unemployed loser who lived with his parents and had no income to speak of. The man he murdered is the sole reason he was able to subsist at all. He had some volatile anger issues which are evident in the many YouTube streams he’s been present on. He’s also made threats and wild unfounded accusations against a lot of people over the past few years. I thought it was all in jest, but hindsight is always 20-20.

Weird, because a lot of people didn’t need hindsight to realize that threats from people like Lane Davis aren’t actually a joke.

Anybody who even slightly disagreed with Lane became the brunt of his verbal attacks and he would often label his detractors as “leftist pedos.” Lane used this same term against his own parents. When his father asked him to leave, Lane snapped.

The Ralph Report is currently tossing all things Lane Davis down the old memory hole.

It’s no secret that Lane has contributed to The Ralph Retort for a number of years but those days are over. In fact, after today, I’m erasing all of his articles. …

I don’t care how big his contribution was. A guy that would murder his own father in cold blood doesn’t deserve to be read. No matter how accurate he was in the past, he ended his usefulness to this world when he ended his dad’s life.

So yeah, they’re still defending the allegedly accurate “reporting” of someone who 1) stabbed his father, 2) threatened people and 3) aimed accusations “against a lot of people” that Nora Ralph plainly admits were “wild” and “unfounded.”

Here’s a thought: if someone on the staff of your alleged publication is threatening people and throwing around “wild unfounded accusations,” fire that person and denounce them. Don’t wait until someone gets killed.

Just a thought.

Colton Fears, Tyler Tenbrink and Wiliam Fears, charged with attempted murder after shooting yesterday

By David Futrelle

Three white supremacists have been charged with attempted murder after one of them fired at a group of antifascist counterprotesters after a speech by neo-Nazi celebrity Richard Spencer at the University of Florida in Gaineville yesterday.

The Miami Herald reports:

Just before 5:30 p.m., just as protesters outside Spencer’s speech at UF’s Phillips Center were wrapping up, Gainesville police said the trio started heckling some anti-Spencer protesters with Hitler chants, Nazi salutes and threats. At one point, cops said, convicted felon Tenbrink pulled out a gun and the brothers encouraged him to use it.

He fired a single shot that missed the group, police said, then sped off in a silver Jeep. An off-duty Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputy spotted the car 20 miles out of town around 9 p.m. and arrested the group. The Fears brothers are held on million dollar bonds in the Alachua County jail. Tenbrink’s is $3 million.

Surprise, surprise: Two of the three were amongst the alleged “very fine people” marching with their fellow white supremacists in Charlottesville.

Tenbrink, 28, and William Fears, 30, were spotted at Charlottesville, the site of the largest white nationalist gathering in years that erupted in violence. Fears identifies himself on Twitter as “Charismatic leader of a White breeding cult” and tweeted “blood and soil,” the notorious Nazi slogan.

This is terrorism, plain and simple. It’s appalling the story isn’t getting more attention in the media.

Here are some tweets with more details on what happened.

And these three aren’t the only violent white supremacists who should be getting a lot more attention from the press — and the cops.

The ProPublica piece is a long one but I think a necessary read for anyone concerned with the rise of a violent fascist movement in US.

My thoughts exactly.

Meanwhile, everyone in the White House continues to lie about Trump’s shockingly callous treatment of a grieving Gold Star mother and the congresswoman who has stood up for her.

Don TrumpJr. has thrown himself into the fray though he apparently has trouble telling black women apart.

Rachel Maddow has a pretty convincing theory on why Trump doesn’t want to talk about Niger: that the 4 US soldiers died in part as a result of the Trump administration alienating the government of Chad, which pulled its troops out of Niger after Trump put the country  (a longtime ally in the war on terror) on his alleged non-Muslim ban list for an extremely stupid reason.

In a whole other arena of terrible, things are even worse in Puerto Rico than official reports acknowledge:

But our country still has its heroes. Along with Rep. Wilson and all those working diligently to save lives in Puerto Rico, there is this dude:

Here are some cute animals because we all need more of them this week. And every week these days, frankly.
